customers' privacy is paramount...
Business360 is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our customers and other users of the site at the same time as providing our customers with a personalized service. We work hard to earn and keep your trust, so we adhere to the following principles to protect your privacy:
- We do not rent or sell your personally identifiable information to third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not share your contact information with other users without your consent.
- Any personally identifiable information that you provide will be secured with industry standard protocols and technology
We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our newsletter home pages. By continuing to use our service after notice of changes have been sent to you or published on our websites, you are consenting to the changes.
Information that we collect... We collect information about four types of users:
- Unregistered Visitors - those that visit one of our sites but don’t register.
- Registered Users - those that register to receive better access to our sites and/or to receive one or more of our periodic newsletters.
- Subscriber Users – people who have greater access to our newsletter sites and can choose to receive a wider array of newsletter services because their company has been nominated a Subscriber
- Subscribers – companies that elect to pay for subscriber access to give their users greater access to our sites and to give their users the chance to guide the material we cover for them. On occasion, we elect to give some companies free subscriber access to some of our newsletter sites
The only information we obtain from Unregistered Visitors comes from third party providers such as Google Analytics and is only collected in the aggregate.
In order to become a Registered User or Subscriber User, you must first create an account on one of our websites. To create an account you are required to provide your first name, email address, and a password chosen by you. You may provide additional information such as last name and company. Subscribers provide us with additional information used for billing purposes.
One type of cookie, known as a “persistent” cookie, is set once you’ve logged in to your account account. The next time you visit the same website, the persistent cookie will allow us to recognize you as an existing User so you may not need to log in before using the service.
Additionally, if you log out of one of our websites you will need to re-enter your password the next time you visit in order to log in to your account. Another type of cookie, called a “session” cookie, is used to identify a particular visit to one of our websites. Session cookies expire after a short time or when you close your web browser.
We allow other companies, called ad networks, to serve advertisements to Users. Ad networks include third party ad servers, ad agencies, ad technology vendors and research firms. Business360 does NOT use personally identifiable information to target ads.
To deliver these ads properly, Business360 may include a file, called a web beacon, from these ad networks within pages served by Business360 so the networks may provide anonymized, aggregated auditing, research and reporting for advertisers as well as to target ads to you while you visit other websites.
Because your web browser must request these advertisements and web beacons from the ad network’s servers, these companies can view, edit or set their own cookies, just as if you had requested a web page from their site.
These general targets may also be used by ad networks to display targeted ads on other websites as a substitute for random, irrelevant ads. Business360 does not provide personally identifiable information to any advertiser or any other third party.
Due to the communications standards on the Internet, when you visit a Business360 web site we automatically receive the URL of the site from which you came and the site to which you are going when you leave. We also receive the Internet protocol (IP) address of your computer (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), your computer operating system and type of web browser you are using, email patterns, as well as the name of your ISP. This information is used to analyze overall trends to help us improve our service. The linkage between your IP address and your personally identifiable information is not shared with third-parties without your permission or except when required by law.
Rights to Access, Correct and Eliminate Information About You
You have a right to access, modify, correct and eliminate the data about you which has been collected pursuant to your decision to become a User. If you update any of your information, we may keep a copy of the information which you originally provided to us in our archives for uses documented herein.
How we use this information...
Business360 takes the privacy of Users seriously. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your personally identifiable information to third parties for marketing purposes. We will only share your personally identifiable information with third parties to carry out your instructions or to provide specific services or information as required by law.
Business360 uses the information it gathers mainly to deliver emails to Users. Periodically, Business360 may include a short reader poll in a Business360 e-mail, so that we can further tailor our content to reader preferences. In addition, Business360 may track the open-rates of our HTML e-mails and certain click behavior from those e-mails to help us identify which portions of our newsletters are most popular with our readers.
Business360 uses this information in several ways:
- to provide relevant, personalized, targeted news and information via e-mail
- to help target advertising messages included in our e-mail newsletters
- to enable our customer service professionals to respond to your feedback
- to provide you with information about products and services we offer
We use reasonable security safeguards to protect your personally information we collect on our websites from unauthorized access, use, modification or disclosure. However, due to the design of the Internet and other factors outside of our control, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and our servers will be free from unauthorized access by third parties.
Although we do everything within our power to protect the privacy of the information provided by the users of our site, we do reserve the right to share user information in the event that it is necessary to comply with any subpoena, court orders, or legal process.
